Masks are visual, tangible fairy tales, combining music, dancing and singing to understand and explain humanity and the world we live in. These beautiful pieces provide the Gibbs with many educational opportunities for our community.

“It is quite a vast collection of masks from all over the world,” said Ellen Noël Curator Daniel Zies.
Last week, third and fourth graders from Ector County Independent School District got to view the exhibit as part of the Fine Arts Connection program, an educational collaboration that has been in place for more than 20 years.
“The mask exhibition was selected for this purpose due to its educational importance that explores different cultures, traditions and artistic renditions that fuse dance, prayer, performance, story-telling and spiritual thought into a compelling narrative,”
